     Our business started in a garage, where artist James Coulter www.jamesmcoulter.com made canvas panels and wet panel boxes for personal use. They were built to be functional and durable, since they would be used outdoors on painting trips to many locations around the world.
     These original products were seen by other artists who asked James to make some of the items for them. With the high quality and reasonable price, these products became very popular and now available at the nationally famous Scottsdale Art School.
     James soon developed an outdoor painting system or plein air easel which is now the "Plein Air System". Professional Artists, teachers and students from around the world are now using this very simple outdoor painting easel. 
     Bob Pendergraft is James' stepfather and business partner. It was his table saw that made the first prototypes for the products of today. He loves talking with artists  and supplying products that will make painting much easier.
